About the Programme
The TSH Youth Orchestra is a music education and performance programme for young musicians in the Houston area. Our aim is to develop technically accomplished musicians who are equally grounded in Indian classical traditions and the Western orchestral repertoire.
The programme is inspired by Tagore’s vision of education as a holistic, joyful process — one that nurtures creativity, discipline, and cultural identity simultaneously.
What We Offer
- Rabindra Sangeet training — voice and instrumental
- Indian classical instruments — sitar, tabla, violin (Carnatic/Hindustani)
- Western ensemble playing — strings, winds, piano
- Annual showcase concert performed at TSH events including Barnali
