About Houston Compassion Week
Tagore Society Houston participates in Houston Compassion Week — a city-wide initiative bringing diverse communities together around shared values of empathy, service, and human dignity. Our programming draws directly on Tagore’s writings on compassion and universal brotherhood.
TSH Events During Compassion Week
Chai & Samosa with Tagore
Tagore Memorial Grove, Ray Miller Park, 1800 Eldridge Pkwy
A relaxed afternoon gathering at the Tagore Memorial Grove. Bring the family, enjoy chai and samosas, and listen to short readings from Tagore’s poetry and prose. No registration required.
Panel Discussion: Tagore’s Humanism in the 21st Century
A moderated conversation with scholars, community leaders, and artists on how Tagore’s ideas about compassion, education, and cross-cultural dialogue remain urgently relevant today.
